AASUA

On October 16, 2025 the AASUA members were asked to vote to approve or reject the terms of a renewal collective agreement. The voting period closed at 4:30 pm on October 21, 2025. 

The results are as follows:

Eligible AASUA Voters: 4,172

Yes votes: 2164  - 80%

No votes: 551 - 20%

Total votes cast: 2,715 - 65%

Members have ratified the tentative agreement. 

The tentative agreement will now go before the Board of Governors for a ratification vote.

AASUA and the Governors of the University of Alberta have reached a tentative agreement.

AASUA members are being asked to vote to accept or reject the below tentative agreement, which includes the Memorandums of Agreement and Memorandum of Understanding. If accepted by a majority of the membership and the Governors of the University of Alberta, this tentative agreement will become the renewal Collective Agreement between the AASUA and the Governors of the University of Alberta. 

The tentative agreement package includes all of the following documents: 

• Tentative agreement 
• Article 11 & Appendix C - Joint Working Group Memorandum of Agreement (MOA)
• Promotion for Librarians - Joint Working Group MOA
• Workload Study Committee - Memorandum of Understanding

Before members are asked to vote on a tentative agreement in a ratification vote, the President shall present it to the membership at an information-only General Meeting, where members may pose questions to the Executive, Lead Negotiator or other experts.
