The Executive manages the business and affairs of the Association, and the property and other assets of the Association, in accordance with the positions policies, goals and objectives established by Council or the members of the Association at general meetings. The President is the spokesperson on behalf of the Association. Seats on Council are allocated amongst the seven constituency groups and elected by the members in the Association pursuant to the AASUA bylaws. The AASUA is a statutory corporation and designated under the Post-secondary Learning Act as the exclusive bargaining agent for its academic staff members. The AASUA is deemed a union under the Labour Relations Code which governs collective bargaining.
