As we are called upon to deliver our work in extraordinary circumstances, I would like to update you on the measures being taken to safeguard employment issues for AASUA members. I have been working alongside the Labour Relations Officers to understand any current or potential impacts on individual employment issues.
First, I would direct any AASUA members who are facing difficulties connected to their employment as a result of the COVID-19 situation, and which has not been resolved by their Chair or Supervisor, to be in touch with a Labour Relations Officer.
All AASUA staff are now working remotely, and the best way to ensure your matter is attended to is by contacting us by:

Second, the Labour Relations officers have been in contact with University Administration to safeguard any deadlines as needed for formal dispute and appeal procedures; and to respond to individual member circumstances that are affected by the COVID-19 situation, such as the ability to travel outside the province to be with family; impacts on research projects and deadlines; as well as safety concerns from being on campus.
