Hello once again, everyone,
The AASUA is holding a by-election for unfilled Councillor seats.
The "By-elections Timeline" is on AASUA's Elections webpage.
Final Call for Nominations for Councillors:
This is the final call inviting members to stand for unfilled Councillor seats for the unexpired term ending June 30, 2021.
Please go to the Elections webpage to submit your Nomination.
Nominations close 12:00 noon Friday, April 10, 2020.
The number of unfilled seats for each constituency group are on AASUA’s Elections webpage.
Voting shall open 9:00 am Tuesday, April 14 and shall close 12:00 noon Friday, April 17. Members shall receive an electronic ballot and instructions when voting opens.
Members of a given constituency as a whole, except for the faculty constituency, vote for their representatives to Council. Academic Faculty members only vote for their representatives in their own faculty.
Results of the by-election for Councillors will be announced on April 17, 2020.
Council meetings are held at least four times a year on Thursday afternoons throughout the academic year. Councillors are encouraged to attend their constituency assembly as called by the elected Director of the constituency group.
While representatives are elected from the Association’s seven constituency groups and while Council’s constituency committees work to bring forward to Council constituency group issues and proposals for action on the part of the Association, Councillors are expected to work for the best interests of the Association as a whole.
Should you need further assistance, my contact information is on the AASUA Elections webpage.
Thank you and be well.
