ATS
My name is Lucinda Rasmussen and I work as an Associate Lecturer with English and Film Studies. It is in this capacity that I wish to run for a position as Alternate Councillor for the ATS constituency group. While I have held my current title since 2018, I have worked as a contract instructor with English and Film Studies as well as Writing Studies for the past six years, and was a graduate student instructor prior to that time. My primary responsibility at present is to deliver first-year English courses, which I teach on an 8-month basis during fall and winter semesters.
As an ATS member, I am proud to belong to a group of colleagues who do exemplary, vital work within this institution. The dedication ATS members bring to their roles has been strongly apparent during the pandemic, a time when we have continued to fulfill work responsibilities to an extraordinary degree, but while perhaps more keenly than ever feeling the stress that accompanies precarity. Certainly, the pandemic and provincial budget present enormous threats to the efforts that are still underway to improve the work situation for ATS in this institution. If appointed as an alternate councillor, I will do all I can to support efforts to ensure that momentum is not lost in this regard.
