Academic Affairs Committee

  • makes recommendations to the Executive in regard to any issue impacting the working conditions of members in their teaching or research;
  • promotes understanding of academic freedom and threats to members’ exercises thereof ... read more  

Equity & Diversity Committee

  • identifies and makes recommendations to Executive for advocacy on issues of equity, diversity, oppression, harassment, and injustice impacting members and their work ... read more


Finance Committee

  • makes recommendations through Executive to Council with respect to any action that would affect the financial obligations of the AASUA;
  • reviews the dues structure at least every three years;
  • prepares AASUA's budget for the next academic year ... read more


Governance Committee

  • makes periodic reviews of AASUA's bylaws and any other responsibilities as may be assigned ... read more 

Grievances Committee

  • determines if a member's complaint concerning the collective agreement shall be pursued, including the decision to advance the grievance to arbitration ... read more.  

Job Action Committee

  • prepares for and carries out job action such as strike should that last measure prove necessary  ... read more.
