Our campaign to stop the cuts to the U of A has received substantial support thus far, and I’m writing to invite you to join us next week as we present our petition to the Alberta government.
This handover is a major moment for our campaign—we have received over 7,000 signatures to tell the government to stop it’s disastrous cuts to Alberta’s post-secondary education system, and the U of A in particular. Now we need your help to drive our message home.

We will be joined by Demetrios Nicolaides, the Minister of Advanced Education, and David Eggen, the NDP critic for Advanced Education.
You can also expect to see Kevin Kane, the president of the Confederation of Alberta Faculty Associations (CAFA) and Lisa Dublin, a representative from the Non-Academic Staff Association (NASA) during the live stream—it should be exciting.
We need a significant turnout—attendance is crucial to the impact of our campaign. We need to tell the provincial government that these cuts will have profound and lasting consequences for Alberta.
