The AASUA, the largest academic-staff union in the country, condemns the Ontario Government’s Bill 28, the “Keeping Students in Class Act.”
This Bill has violated 55,000 CUPE members’ rights to collective bargaining and to strike.
The Ontario government has coupled this anti-strike legislation with the imposition of a four-year contract on educational support workers and administrative staff.
AASUA is joining the Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT), and voices in the broader labour movement across Canada, in denouncing these actions.
