Dear members,
AASUA’s nominee to the Board of Governors — Dr. Heather Bruce — has accepted another position at Dalhousie University effective September 15. We congratulate Heather on this new position as Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Campus Principal.
This is advance notice that there will be a call out for self-nominations from academic staff members to fill this position as AASUA’s Nominee to the Board of Governors for a three-year term commencing upon Ministerial appointment. The nomination form will require the candidate’s bio and vision statement for the role. AASUA invites all members, including members of equity seeking groups to consider standing for this position.
The role of this position is set out in the Post-Secondary Learning Act.
The first call will go out to the membership on August 27.
The second call will go out on September 5.
The deadline for all nominations will be Monday, September 9 at 4 PM.
If more than one member stands for this position, AASUA will hold an election in accordance with Article 21.1 of its Bylaws and its policies. The election will be held following the close of the nomination period.
Please note that the elected candidate is subject to Ministerial appointment.
