The Confederation of Alberta Faculty Associations (CAFA) is looking for nominations for its 2023 Distinguished Academic Awards.  

These awards recognize members of the University of Lethbridge Faculty Association (ULFA), the Athabasca University Faculty Association (AUFA), Grant MacEwan University Faculty Association (GMUFA), Mount Royal Faculty Association (MRFA) and the Association of Academic Staff of the University of Alberta (AASUA), who through their research and/or other scholarly, creative, or professional activities have made outstanding contributions to the community beyond the university.

The awards include:

CAFA Distinguished Academic Award

Recognizing an academic staff member, or group of staff members, who through their research and/or other scholarly, creative or professional activities have made an outstanding contribution to the wider community beyond the university.

CAFA Distinguished Academic Early Career Award

Recognizing an academic staff member at an early stage of his or her career, who through his or her research and/or other scholarly, creative or professional activity has made an outstanding contribution to the wider community beyond the university.

CAFA Distinguished Teaching Award

Recognizing an academic staff member who excels in teaching and goes above and beyond in their role as a teacher and has made an outstanding contribution to the wider community beyond the university.

CAFA Distinguished Teaching Award for Precarious Academics - NEW

Recognizing a precarious academic staff member who excels in teaching. 

 

The deadline for nominations is Apr. 28, 2023. Please find the nomination form linked here

CAFA will hold an awards dinner in Edmonton on Sept. 14, and each Award recipient will receive a cheque for $2,000 and an original piece of Alberta artwork.
